Obtaining a Library Card

Two forms of identification are required to obtain a library card, register for reciprocal borrowing privileges,
or to renew an existing card. Of the two forms of identification:

	One must include a picture ID with name and current address
	One must provide verification of current address (dated within a month of the application date)

Examples of acceptable forms of ID/proof of residency are:

    property tax bill
    driver's license or state ID
    utility bill
    bank statement
    vehicle registration sticker forms
    vehicle insurance card
    mortgage

Parents must be present to show ID and sign cards for anyone under 18 yrs.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loan allows Matteson Public Library card holders access to materials which are
not available from the Library's collection. Our staff will search the catalogs of other libraries (including out of state libraries) and can often locate unusual or out-of-print titles. The interlibrary loan process takes from approximately 5 business days to several weeks depending on the location of the book and the library's response time.
